8th Annual Professional Baseball Scout School: Tommy Jackson (L), current New York Mets Scout, had three high school baseball coaches shadow him for 48 hours June 13 - 15 during the ALABCA All-Star Event. Great learning experience for our states amateur baseball coaches! And it’s free.

The ALABCA donates two sets of Mound and Plate Tarps ($1,200 per set) to financial needy baseball programs each spring. Parker and Vigor High School in Mobile were the 2016 recipients.

Butch Thompson - new Auburn University Head Baseball Coach kicked off the 2016 Coaches Convention with a Hot Stove Session on Pitching Thursday night, then as seen here, the opening talk on Pitching the next morning.

Pat Williams, Orlando Magic Assistant General Manager and best selling author and nationally renowned motivational speaker, filled the room both times when he addressed our coaches. He also was the guest speaker at our Convention Awards Banquet on Friday night and our Saturday morning “faith talk.” Very inspirational and engaging each time!

The ALABCA January Coaches Convention Awards Banquet not only inducts a new Hall of Fame Class & recognizes a Distinigusihed Service Award Recipient, it also honors our states high school and collegiate head and assistant baseball coaches and pitchers and position players who have had special seasons the past year. We honor Umpires from both levels as well.

ALABCA June All-Star Event (ASE) Speaker Lou Thornton, former MLB player and current AUM Wellness Center Director/HPER Instructor, points out to the 120 ASE Underclassmen & their Parents the importance of getting their college degree and the small percentage of a chance they have to make it to the big leagues by the numbers.

The ALABCA host 2 Free Unsigned Senior Workouts for high school baseball players in late May/early June. The June 7, 2016 workout at Calhoun Community College had over 50 players take advantage of this offer, while 6 Community College Coaches looked on. The June 2 workout was held at LBW Community College where the turnout of college coaches and players were about the same.

2016 Team Alabama played in the 1st Annual Southeastern Underclassmen Shootout (SUS) held at Troy University, June 27 - 30, 2016. Teams Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi & Tennessee competed along with Alabama for the Gold Cup (overall Champion), and the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Teams participants received. 32 Colleges and 9 Professional Organizations attended this first-year event.

2015 December 12 High School Winter Clinic: Record number of 2-Year and 4-Year Colleges/Universities work the camp. 11 Community Colleges: Alabama Southern, Calhoun, CACC, CVCC, Faulkner State, Lawson State, LBW, Snead State, Shelton State, Southern Union, Wallace-Selma. 16 Four-Year College/Universities: Alabama, UAB, Alabama A & M, Alabama State, Auburn, AUM, Birmingham Southern, Huntingdon College, Miles College, Montevallo, Samford, South Alabama, Stillman, Talladega, Troy University, West Alabama. 3 Professional Scouts: Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox & Minnesota Twins. Players were charged $75 for this Instructional Clinic and Showcase.

2015 December 12 Winter Baseball Clinic & Showcase drew 110 High School Baseball Players from around the State. Players were charged $75 to be taught baseball and to showcase their Fielding, Throwing & Hitting skills, by and in front of 16 Four-Year College/University and 11 Community College Baseball Coaches from around Alabama, as well as three Professional Scouts.

7th Annual First Pitch Dinner (FPD) Benefits the 13 Miracle Leagues around the Alabama: Fred "The Crime Dog" McGriff poses with Sammy and Susan Frichter and their son Michael, a Miracle League baseball player from Dothan, AL. Sammy is also a Board Member of the Dothan Miracle League.
